Quote from: RottingCorpse on April 14, 2014, 08:30:06 PMClimate Change is a myth! We're all fine![apocalypse]We've frequently had snow in April. In fact, the rarity of it now is a sign of climate change! DC's snow average in April up till the 1930s was 5 inches. We've been getting gradually warmer Aprils in our lifetimes.
An amazing 3-7 inches of rain fell through the heart of the Washington, D.C. metro region between Monday and early Thursday morning. The heaviest amounts fell just west of I-95 from western Prince William County through central Fairfax County, eastern Montgomery County and into central Howard County. Isolated areas of Montgomery County received 7-8 inches of rain. The lowest totals occurred on the northwestern and southeastern fringes of our areas where 1-3 inches was more common. The most significant downpours occurred Wednesday, and Reagan National, BWI and Dulles Airports all established daily record rain totals (for April 30) of 2.70 inches, 3.06 inches, and 3.99 inches, respectively. The 3.99 inches at Dulles was also a record for the entire month of April and the most rain to fall there in a single day in any month between November and May. Records at Dulles date back to 1963.Here are storm totals at the three airports – from Monday afternoon through Thursday morning: Reagan National 4.18″, BWI 4.74″, and Dulles 5.54″These totals were more than an entire month’s worth at all three locations – which average around 3 inches of rain in April.
