I'm up for it!  My secretary's job will be to stop everyone from seeing or talking to me.  Ever.

She'll also be responsible for sliding manuscripts across her empty desk and into the trashcan.

And -- a note from you RC -- she'll be constantly doing her nails when someone's in the office.  *scritch, scritch, scritch*  She has to stare at the person, too.  Angry, indian-warrior face.

i like the sound of this already.  now if only there was some way to get a grant so we wouldn't actually have to do any real work except for maybe one day a quarter.  we could just play secretary games all day.  and have interns.  intern games and secretary games.  oh, god, i can almost taste it.

Unlike RC's chosen course in life, mine will eventually allow for this.  Unless the book doesn't sell, I lose my shirt, and I have a real meltdown.  The sort where Fajwat has to make the update instead of me because I'll have crawled into the air conditioning ducts, screaming, like the severed head in John Carpenter's The Thing.

here's how I think it could be legally done:

contract the admin assistants out.  Make the creative consortium a membership which can be bought into.  Then, legally, you can require the contracting firm to provide.. certain services to help make your consortium's membership attractive -- it's now part of your business plan.

on 2nd thought, that makes it enough like hooters that I don't think the extra step of contracting it out is necessary.
