Come on, I just saw a copy of that Cinderella thing on Amazon that said "Viewed Once."†

Yeah, I read your list, you difficult person.

Those used copies are always circulating.  How much was it, though?  And any mention of quality?  Was it bought, or rental, or what?

We have close neighbors, and they like to drink.

Alwasy good in case the kid's not enough meat to last through winter.

Plus, don't give me that alcoholic shut-in crap. You have friends. You just choose not to put forth the effort most of the time. You're just an obsessive culture cultist who couldn't stand it if someone got new info before you did.

Now, now, don't assume things.  It is possible that I have three regular lunches/dinners a week with friends you don't know.

Just because my weekends and holidays are consumed by SFWP work or overall exhaustion, and I spend my time mocking myself here, doesn't mean there isn't a social schedule.

Ah, Nacho, perfect chance to say yes to dinner with me tomorrow!!!† Thirsty Thursday!† Come on, say yes!

Don't say Virginia.

Would all you fucking Virginia people please move to Maryland?

Come on, visit us, it's easy.  All you do is ride the Metro for 90 minutes out to Fort Stinking Desert Station, then take the bus 30 minutes to Dead Indian Springs, then it's only 60 miles to my house!  I'll pick you up!

Jesus, how about I meet you at Lad's Bar in Toronto?

Remember, you bastards (I'm looking at you, RC) it's not "easy" to run out to your place if you have to offer overnight accommodation.

I'm not saying you don't have a social life, but your putting forth this argument that the internet rules over many aspects of your life and hinders true social interaction, and I'm saying it only invades your life if you let it.

Plus it's relative. Some people might think masturbating ten times a day is excessive. But the guy doing it may not have any problem with it whatsoever.

For a video tape!  Madness!  Besides, I'd have to go drag my VCR out of the crawlspace.  And then the TV...it's a slippery slope.

Though I could use the grandparent's equipment.  Watch the popcorn birth scene with my grandmother.

And now they rape her with a corn cob, all graphic and shown on screen with full penetration, then she pops it!

The argument isn't about my life, it's about how the internet, generally speaking, now rules everyone's life (or has the potential to).

edit:  You're assuming I'm talking about myself because you've judged me as an internet fiend and you look down on me because you need to feel better about yourself.  I KNOW!  I KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON!

I'm going to force you to download The Sinful Dwarf as punishment.

Jesus, we both work in the same city, and only a matter of blocks apart.† Can we not eat somewhere equidistant from our prospective places of employment?† Cripes, it takes an hour to Metro all the way from your place in MD to my place in VA.

The internet rules my life.† I admit it.† That's why I can't have a computer at home.† If I did, I would spend all my time downloading old Conan shows.† As it is, I bum downloads of Drawn Together from the hackers without ever being able to repay them...

La Collinne for drinks, then, as always.  I'm going to spend the next 30 years of my life only going to bars where everyone knows me.  6pm.

See, everyone?  Out for drinks on Thursday at my little out of the way French bar.  I'm going to do that even though it cuts into my Netflix schedule and really puts me out of downloading the perfect player-made mod for Freelancer then spending eight hours reading about obscure battles fought in the 9th century on Wikipedia while waiting desperately for someone to post on GS.

"Hi, my name is -- "

HI I"M NACHO WELCUM TO GSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!  HAVE U SCENE THE SINFULL DWARVE???

Actually, Zerda, can you move it to tonight?  Seriously.

No Nacho, I can't tonight.† If I could have, I would have.†

I am scheduled to perform open heart surgery at 5pm and simple can't cancel.† (aside: I have a friggin migraine headache.† I have already popped 4 excedrin.† I am going home asap.)

But La Collinne tomorrow sounds fine.†

Living example:  A coworker just sent me the same goddamned email forward joke for about the third time over the last 15 months (that has also been forwarded by a multitude of people) and I feel bad admitting that to her.  Like I'm ruining some joy between us.

That is, uniquely, internety.  Sure, old uncle henry has the same joke, and you quietly tolerate it.  But two friends at work, pre-internet, you'd be comfortable saying, hey, you told me that one!  Right?

Hey, maybe I'm the only one with these sorts of complaints.  Maybe everyone is like Jody.  1.5 hours online (lie) and the rest of the time spent running around her huge cabin with an axe, then loping through a hedge maze.  Soaf!  SOAF!  Come out!  I'm not gonna hurt you, baby.

Oh, give me a break.  Migraines are the cornerstone phantoms of womanhood.  I'm surprised you didn't tell me you had to write your shampoo company.

Dear Aussie,

I been using your product for eleven years now, and I am so tired of the changes in packaging.† For gawds sake, stick with one color, yo, and preferrably not puce.†

And I am gonna kill that stupid kangaroo if I see her at the airport again.† Ask her about the detangling product she stashed in my carry-on without my knowledge, that bitch!† She gonna pay when I get out the joint!

Peace.
