Jumping Sharks, etc

House:  Okay, yes, the smart people get it.

House = Holmes

Wilson = Watson

The gang = the Irregulars

Now, season two, we get to see the outside of House's townhouse and the address is 221B... And we linger on that address.  A huge, flashing, DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!?!?!

Yes, we do.  Don't push it.

Stargate Atlantis:  Open up the second half of season two.  Mid season cliffhanger.  Okay.  Got it.  What's revealed?  The big bad Wraith are suddenly territorial, "more so than we thought," and are now battling with each other and, suddenly, weak.

Great sci-fi enemy.

Hopeless situation.

Pop!  All up in smoke.  Copy SG-1 hook, line and...stinker.  A zillion different wraith all fucking each other over and getting guest star of the week roles instead of having this impossibly evil wave of horror.

BSG: Oh, dare I talk about Pegasus?  Dare I cast a shadow on the episode that Sci-Fi hacked 20 minutes out of?  Ron Moore says just you relax, the DVD will have the whole episode.  But if Sci-Fi has hacking rights, that's the end of the show.  Give that channel a knife and they'll take a kidney.

Pops made me watch one episode of that show this weekend and I really enjoyed it.  It was the episode where he has to teach the class and everyone finds out why his leg is all fucked up.  I don't think it was enough for me to gather that he's supposed to be Sherlock, but I'll probably check out the DVD's.

That's their big Emmy episode.

Yeah, it's Sherlock.  And, see, it's subtle.  You're only supposed to get that because you're familiar with Sherlock, you casually make the connection, and it all becomes clear...which pisses me off that they put him in 221B and let the camera linger on that.  All they were missing were the buzzer and the flashing lights.
